Northumberland born James Armstrong has enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age. He captures everything from family pets, racehorses, general wildlife, houses and many other illustrations from life and photography.
Having left the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, James moved back to his native north east and pursued a career in the horseracing industry and qualified as Clerk of the Course at Newcastle. He spends much of his spare time when he is not over-seeing racing at Newcastle or Hexham with a pencil or paint brush in his hand.
James takes commissions on varying subjects. His regular interaction with the outdoors and thoroughbreds is very apparent as you will see on this site, he believes that observation is everything.
James's holidays are preferably spent with his binoculars and camera away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the highlands and islands of Scotland are an accessible favourite.
